Jr Casting Matilda Apply

Upon acceptance into the YAAjunior program, students will also receive audition materials & instructions specifically for Matilda JR. These videos (due date TBA) will be used to guide preliminary casting decisions for the Spring production. An audition workshop and callbacks for specific roles will occur during our first rehearsals in January. MasterChef Junior is an American cooking competition involving children from the ages of 8–13 that premiered on Fox on September 27, 2013. It is based on the format of the British series Junior MasterChef. On March 5, 2014, MasterChef Junior was renewed for a third season before production on season two began. The second season premiered on November 4, 2014.

The announcments says Newsies Jr. will be released winter 2021. Are you still on target to release at that announced time...say before March/April?

We are hoping to book 'Newsies, Jr.' for an August 2021 summer camp production. Do you know when it will be available to book?

I realize the world is still upside down, but we're hoping by August we can have in-person camp again and Newsies is top on our list!

Release Date

Hello! I know the last post asking this question was back in June, but I just wanted to check in and see if 'Winter 2021' possibly meant January or February. Just trying to time out our auditions, and see if I could potentially hold out till it's released. Thank you in advance!

Release date

Hello! I know you said that this will be released in early Winter 2021. Does that mean like January? If so can we book the show before hand so we can start rehearsals as soon as it is realeased? I work at an all boys school & my boys at my school really wanted to do this show this year when we thought it was being realeased in August 2020. They will be 8th graders and since it is their last year at my school and the restrictions that will most likely be in place, this would be the perfect show because there aren't many girl roles. Please try to realease it early! It will bring joy to so many children after these uncertain times. Yesterday, at our drive-by goodbyes, the 8th grade boys said that they are most looking forward to doing this play at school next year. Thank you!

Release Date for Newsies JR.

I noticed that the release date for Newsies Jr. was just pushed back to Winter 2021 this week. My theatre group had already decided to do this show as our musical next year, but with that release date, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to do so. My group is an elementary club with 5th through 8th graders and I do not want to disappoint them. Is it possible that the date could be moved back up to August? If not, which month in winter will it release?

Hi I was wondering when the roles & music samples will be available for viewing. Also, since it is the Jr. Version I was wondering if there have been any changes in the characters that can be played by both boys or girls? I do work in an all boy school, but I have the girls from our sister school in the play as well.
